For the second week’s assignment, we’ve got two pieces for you.

First, there’s a worksheet. It has examples of text on the left, with the category names and short descriptions on the right. Match the text to the labels, scan it, and upload it. There aren’t any tricks on this one, so have fun with it!

The second part is more creative: on the second page of the download PDF, there’s the word “Type.” Pick a different type category, put a piece of paper or tracing paper over the worksheet, and draw new characters over the printout in the style of the new category. For example, the word is a Humanist Serif, so you could pick Humanist Sans Serif and when you trace it, cut off the serifs! I included the word “Type” twice so you can experiment with different styles.
